As a matter of policy I do not complain about aches and pains and various ailments (my dad used to call them “organ recitals”) but I am going to do so now because I have been absolutely flattened by the latest flu epidemic going around in NSW. Last I read there were over 100000 people affected by it and over 40000 people have been hospitalised as a result. Like most bugs, it starts out slowly and then moves into top gear and mows you down.
Last Friday I set out to drive down to Albury for Round 4 of the MotoStars series. I got as far as the other side of Moss Vale and turned around and came home. I reasoned that there wasn’t much point driving further AWAY from home when I felt this bad just in the hope that I’d feel better. Saturday, a trip to the doctor who told me very sympathetically that, had I not had my flu shot, I would be feeling far WORSE than I was (quite how this is possible I do not know)
Being told that 10-14 days is the usual turnaround time before you start feeling better wasn’t exactly what I wanted to hear either, but I went home, drank lots of fluids, stayed warm and waited for improvement. It hasn’t happened, so this afternoon I’m going back to the doctor to see if there is anything more that can be done.
I hate being sick!

I didn’t realise my visit last Thursday would have had such a big impact on your health,Phil!!! Hope the doctors can sort you out-not sure if any drugs can help but always keep the fluids up and REST is best. See you when you’re better. Jeff
