From time to time someone asks me, “Why aren’t there lots of songs written about motorcycles?” My answer is always the same, I just don’t know. Anyway, as the intro to this video will explain, I found this one and I hope you enjoy it. Since the 2nd of April I have been recording a song every day and uploading it to my YouTube channel. Today was Day 116. If you enjoy this one, please feel free to visit my channel and check out some of my other offerings. Subscribe to the channel if you wish. I ain’t no pro musician but I sure do enjoy making music.
The second round of the Jerez double header went off last night. Lots of accidents, a handful of blown-up Yamaha engines which must be giving Lin Jarvis some sleepless nights and a Yamaha 1-2-3, their first for goodness-knows how many years. A break now for a fortnight and then on to Brno where the Ducatis can use their power advantage.
No riding at the moment, it’s been belting down rain here for two days and not showing any sign of easing up. As I’ve said many times, I will ride in the rain if I get CAUGHT in it but there is no way I will SET OUT to ride when it’s raining. As you know, I have even holed up at a dry place for days during a tour rather than continuing my tour if the rain. Yeah, I’m soft, I know.
Catch you soon.

Hi Phil – (27July20)
Thanks for a nice segment.
* Yes, Arlo Guthrie’s ‘Pickle’ – recall when that came out. He still plays Seattle.,
* Rich Thompson’s ‘Vincent Black Shadow’ is honoured by the best guitarists I know. Did he play a livelier version with his wife in Thompson Twins?
* Steppenwolf’s ‘Born to Be Wild’ is tops. (I met John Kay playing im Schwarzwald in 1981.)
What else? ‘Motorcycle Emptiness’ by Manic Street Preachers is excellent: https://youtu.be/gavcjNniIvk

Emoji => But any long moto trip brings Allman Brothers earworms. If it’s sunny it’s ‘Dreams.’ Rainy? Back to the ole ‘Whipping Post.’
Cheers – Bruce Scholten
P.S. Don’t forget Lin Jarvis promised to dance naked in the pitlane if Yamahas finished 1-2-3 at Jerez. He owes us!

Thanks, mate, the last sentence conjoured up way too many grotesque images, I’m afraid.
